Wind Power Blade and Tower Inspection

[P-scan Index]

Leaders in Automated Testing of  Wind Power Turbine Blades and Towers.
FORCE Technology have been testing wind power rotor blades for more than ten years.  The latest modular track-scanners can be configured to scan the largest blades proposed for offshore structures greater than 50m long.

The P-scan automated ultrasonic system has been testing welded steel tubular structures for more than 30 years.   The newest systems are light-weight, portable and can inspect the largest steel tower structures intended for offshore wind farms, typically about 5m diameter and 80m long (high).

P-scan 4 Lite

Modular Track Scanner for Turbine Rotor Blades
  • UT inspection of large glass-fibre reinforced rotor blades.
  • Can inspect blades with a length of more than 50 metres
  • Control electronics and scanning Y-modules are standard components within the FORCE P-scan system
  • Easy handling of rotor blades when inspection is performed with blades placed on production transport wagons.

Modular Weld Scanner for Turbine Towers

  • Robust scanner system for production control of movable structures

  • Moving the inspection object (here rotating the tower) relative to the probes performs the X-movement.

  • If necessary, probe positioning and scanning is performed by Y-module

  • The whole inspection system is placed on a robust wagon for easy handling

  • Video simulation available.
